First Friday Art Walks, held the first Friday of each month. There are several neighborhoods and communities in Denver that participate in the art walks. You can also find similar art walks in Boulder, Ft Collins, Estes Park, and throughout Colorado. Each offers a different taste and style!
Friday, April 17, 4-7pm, A Night of Wine and Roses. This family friendly event invites you to celebrate the annual debut of Tagawa’s own-grown potted rose bushes with wine tastings by Balistereri Vineyards as well as a fantastic selection of gourmet cheeses and fruits, courtesy of the Tagawa Family. There will also be live entertainment by the Silver & Strings Duo. Shop, sample, and enjoy!

Downtown Denver Arts Festival, May 22-24. Held every Memorial Day weekend, and features the best of Colorado’s visual artists. More than 125 artists from around the state will be exhibiting and selling their art all weekend long. Come meet the artists and join the 150,000 people that visit this show!
Denver Comic Con, May 22-25, at the Denver Convention Center. This 3-day fan convention features the best in popular television shows, movies, Japan animation, toys, gaming, sci-fi/fantasy, and of course, comic books.
May 23rd, from 2:30-9:30pm, downtown Denver transforms into a massive free rock concert as over twenty bands take to five stages for the annual Denver Day of Rock. The performance areas will be along Denver’s 16th Street Mall, making it easy to roam from act to act. Food and beverages will be set up throughout downtown for the event, which benefits Denver charity; Amps the Cause.
June 6-7, downtown Denver’s Larimer Square might remind you of the sidewalk chalk art of Italy, thanks to the annual Denver Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival. This festival features over 150 professional artists who will spend hours on their hands and knees transforming the streets of Larimer Square into a bright and colorful work of art using vivid colors and amazing talents!
An ongoing weekend tradition throughout the summer, flashback to the 16th century and journey through a medieval city at Larkspur’s Renaissance Festival! Enjoy full-armor jousting, music, over-sized turkey legs and a marketplace featuring over 200 artisans.
On June 20, the Westword Music Showcase spreads across ten stages in Denver’s Golden Triangle District. This music extravaganza features some of Denver’s hottest new artists, as well as many headlining national acts!
Juneteenth Music Festival, which is one of the nation’s largest two-day celebrations, features live performances, art, and cultural exhibitions. There are food and commercial vendors, and is a celebration of culture and life you must experience! June 19-20
On June 20-21, Denver’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community throws an enormous party every summer with Denver Pridefest. This community celebration is recognized as one of the top ten pride events in the country, and a good time is had by all, regardless of sexual orientation. Last year the event attracted over 365,000 people, and is expected to draw an even bigger crowd this year.
From July 23-26, Denver holds its very own version of Austin’s South by Southwest Music Festival called the Underground Music Showcase, or UMS. Stages and crowds fill the streets and venues of South Broadway, as over 250 local and national bands populate along the strip to entertain the more than 5,000 music lovers attending.
The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, which takes place on Denver’s Sloans Lake, July 18 & 19 was founded in 2001 to celebrate Colorado’s rich Asian Pacific American (APA) culture. Named “Top Annual Festival” by the Rocky Mountain News, and a “Best of Denver” event by Westword, it offers the opportunity to explore APA customs through performances, arts and crafts, shopping, dining, and the exciting athletic competition of dragon boat racing!
The Denver County Fair, July 31 – August 2, highlights the talents, trends, diversity and interests of the residents of the city and county of Denver. Events include a skateboard rodeo, a carnival, competitive eating contests, and much much more!
What started out as a fun group bike ride in Ft Collins has turned into a full-blown bike parade and party that has expanded across the entire country. New Belgium Brewing’s Tour De Fat comes to Denver September 2nd this year, drawing over 10,000 participants who decorate themselves, and their bikes for this all day bike and beer themed carnival celebration.
A taste of Colorado stands proud as the end-of-summer celebration of community pride and spirit in the Denver region. This event, which is held from September 4-7, brings in over 500,000 attendees who come together to enjoy the offerings of more than 50 of the areas restaurants, 250 marketplace artisans and vendors, and seven entertainment stages. This is the way to spend your Labor Day weekend!
