For nearly 30 years, Wade Perry has been assisting people with the most significant investment decisions in their lives. He has been an investment advisor with Merrill Lynch, a financial services wholesaler with John Hancock and a top real estate agent with Coldwell Banker.
As the son of a motivational speaker and two published authors, Wade has helped hundreds of people successfully navigate nearly one billion dollars worth of investments. His philosophy is simple. “It’s not about me.” Back in the 1980’s, Zig Ziglar wrote many best-selling books. One of the principal concepts was: “you can get all you want only by helping others get what they want”.
He relentlessly pursues wisdom for the benefit of others by reading 24 books a year and holds several advanced credentials, including the Certified Negotiation Expert, e-Pro, GRI, SFR and ABR.
On a personal note, he has coached youth sports for 19 winning seasons including a Super Bowl victory in Pop-Warner football and a Final Four appearance in the Girls 5A State Lacrosse Championships. He is an avid chef hosting 20 dinner parties a year. When he is not cooking or coaching, you can find him working out in the gym or in the mountains. He and his wife, Lori, who have been happily married for 26 years, are shamelessly proud of their two children, Sloane and Dunham.
Q&A with Wade
1. What do you love about your job?
In my humble opinion, there is no better entrepreneurial occupation than being a full-time professional Realtor. My wife, Lori, and I get to guide and advise people with what is often the most valuable and emotionally charged financial transaction of their lives. The greatest gift we can give to is to help people turn the page from one chapter to the next in as smooth a transition as possible. The greatest gift we receive is referrals. We have been this client-focused for 25 combined years as our only occupation. So, you could say we have received a lot of gifts (referrals).
2. What sets you apart from the competition?
I spent over a dozen years as a financial advisor and public speaker in front of thousands of people. After my time in the financial world and many years in real estate, I was asked to serve as the Managing Broker of the luxury office of one of the largest real estate companies in Colorado. During that time, I oversaw roughly 1,000 transactions per year and helped negotiate over 100 per year. (agents only brought me the tough scenarios as they can do the easy ones themselves.) I also coached some of the top agents to year-over-year personal record results. This combination of teaching others, negotiating as well as in-the-trenches experience puts me in a very unique position to serve the public.
3. What is your communication style like?
As a communication major in college, a public speaker in the financial services industry and a coach of youth sports for 19 seasons from ages 7 to 18, my communication style is that of a teacher. My focus is first and foremost is to learn about you, your family and your lifestyle as well as your needs and wants in your next home. My next focus is to help you become exposed and educated to the realities of the market such that you are enabled to make exceptional decisions.
4. What are you uniquely great at inside your job?
Communication, Marketing, and Negotiation. We covered communication above. When it comes to marketing property, we expose your property to the widest audience, across the broadest spectrum of media in the highest quality possible. Just recently, we were able to expose one of our listings to 15,312 different people in a 30 day period across print, digital and social media. I read 24 books every year and many of those are on communication, marketing, and negotiation. In fact, I was one of the first 19 Realtors in the state to be awarded the Certified Negotiation Expert designation.
5. What are you passionate about?
Giving Back. Whether it has been helping grow and develop young people through coaching or coaching other Realtors or promoting small local businesses in Littleton free of charge to them or feeding and clothing the homeless every year on Christmas morning in Civic Center Park in Downtown Denver, we are all about our personal business tagline: Working with Neighbors. Creating Community.
6. Why did you choose LUX. Denver?
After 5 years of managing an elite group of Realtors, I was diagnosed with Cancer. I beat it. Cancer has a way of shining a bright light I like to call “perspective” on every area of life. As much as I loved leading my team, I felt an immensely strong pull to return to working with my wife from home and to connect more closely with the consumer. This provided the perfect opportunity to look around for the best environment for my new path. After meeting with Emily for 2 hours which went by in a blink and realizing that “Inspired Living” was not just a tagline, I knew this would be home. As such, you could say I live inspired every day.
